Taken from field-recordings made on a gorgeous sunny 27th May 2023, the Saturday of the Spring bank Holiday near Arbury Hill in Northamptonshire, this is the longest Source(ry) track at 10'38" based roughly on the length of the river being 105 miles. As with the other tracks in the series, it embraces the accidental and the incidental of the recording process, the experimentation of which extends to the creative and developmental process back in the studio using LogicPro. It is the first in the series that experiments with spoken word and so can be heard a layering of the the mainly 'old English' names of all the places the River Nene flows through, starting and ending of course, with its source place - Baddan Byrig - Arbury Hill. The artwork for this track is a montage of images taken on location that day which includes the sculpture 'Source' by Mike Ivens, made for the Spirit of the Valley millennium project in 2000. It stands by the river on the Nene Way between Badby and Newnham.
