Taken from an excerpt in Rebecca Solnit's book Wanderlust, both Rural & Urban Walking tracks are an ode to the most basic and satisfying of movements, that of ambulation, through the landscape - both rural and urban. This track focuses on the natural landscape and was mainly recorded in rural central France via a smartphone. As with the whole album, it is a celebration of the lo-fi possibilities of movement, place and creative play. Solnit refers to the exploration of 'the unpredictable' through the act of walking, and so these tracks and the entire album testifies to the same spirit of adventure and unpredictability. This track also captures a distant village clock that along with its idyllic image, is used to build an increasing dark and fore-boding atmoshere that might indicate an anxiety about the increasingly fragile state of our natural world
